cylinders and sparkplugs 200

I'm a novice at engine repair and maintenance and right now I'm trying to determine on my own how to get my 93 B230F running smooth instead of the rough idling, shaking, pinging and missing it's doing right now.

So my question is can I disconnect all but one sparkplug wire at a time and start the egine to determine if there is a bad firing cylinder without screwing things up?

Also how can I test my fuel injectors to see if they are clogged or malfunctioning?

Thanks
