Electric Fan and Fuel Mileage (an update on the conversion) 200

hello dave,

i just installed a nissens 3 row radiator (used) and a permacool fan which is in the cowling right in front of the the themoviscous fan, which i kept.

i haven't jumped the temp comp pins yet, but i was more concerned with oil temp. water temp needle has dropped slightly.

since i didn't compare the 3 row rad before the fan i don't know the contribution of each, electric fan and 3 row rad.

results are good, though. in the texas heat, 90-91 F so far in a constant drive 60-80 mph and in traffic, the oil temp doesn't exceed 100 C, an improvement over last year.

so whatever, i'm pleased. may be an overkill will 2 fans, but my a/c is certainly cooler, but i haven't measured that either. relay and fuse added, which cuts down on voltage draw, of course.

with 260k miles, i'm watching the heat in my 86 engine.

regards,
byron golden
