Various Small Issues 200

In that general leak area also is the oil separator box. Tough to see or get to with TB and manifold in place. Maybe with 'dental' mirror and flashlight you can check it out. I've found elusive leaks by pressure washing the engine in the leak area (and above), then sprinkling talc around after it was dry. Oil leaks show up quickly as a trace through the white dust.

Later models like yours moved the flame trap to a more accessible spot - I think it's up between runners 3&4 of the manifold. As Cabbie says, clean this or replace as a first step in stopping leaks.

If your 'whack' noise is outside the cabin it could well be control arm bushings. If inside, you'll have to get near the apparent source and shake and prod for loose stuff.
