Stiff Ignition Cylinder... 120-130 1967

Hello All:

1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. Am I having a brain fart, that is what the mechanism where one inserts the ignition key is called, right?

Well, Wendy complained a few weeks ago that she was having a tough time getting the key to turn in the ignition. I personally never experienced the problem but sure enough the key nearly broke off in her hand. She had to abandon the car in the lot and get a ride home to pick up the spare. I immediately had a new spare cut just to be safe.

She plans to go back there with a can of WD-40 to try and get the thing lubed up. I am stuck in the City for the day. Does anyone have any other recommendations to resolve this problem, other than to do what my wife recommends the first time around?

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
