Idle high when engine warmed 200 1984

My brick's idle speed, normally at a steady 900 RPM at all times, now idles around 1300 or 1400 RPM after the engine is warm. When cold and for a few minutes afterward, the idle is around 1000.

This issue seemed to gradually present itself, as opposed to happening suddenly. Other than an oil change, my car hasn't been serviced in the past few months so I can't blame a mechanic (or me, for once) for unintentionally causing this.

I checked most of the vacuum hoses; replaced one because it was stiff but found no broken or loose ones as far as I can tell.

Could the problem be something with the idle air control valve? I have a Bentley manual and read up on testing it, but I'm skittish about messing with engine components that could leave me stranded if I screw something up!

Thanks!
