86 240 failed emissions

Hi I'm new to this forum and also new to volvo. Just bought my daughter an 86 240DL with 166000k miles. It seems to run great but it failed emissions with high carbon monoxide readings. Does it need a tune up and maybe an O2 sensor?
I'm also looking for a good shop around Mesa AZ to do this work. I'd try it myself but I don't even know where the O2 sensor is.
