96 965 a/c module removal 900

Howdy. I posted the other day trying to confirm the location fo the a/c module on a 96 965. The responses I received, for which I'm truly greatful, led me to the vacuum control module, which is under the dash on the right side after removing the knee panel. What I'm trying to find are instructions for removing the main control unit, which near as I can tell is built into the control panel for the automatic climate control system. I'm 99 percent convinced I have a failed solder joint (a/c won't come on, system shows appropriate static pressure). But, I'm unsure of the correct procedure for removing the control unit, and I'm more than a little nervous about exploratory surgery, I don't want to break any of the dash trim parts trying to remove the control unit. The Faq section on this appears to address older, 940 series cars.

Has anyone done this? Any tips?
Thanks, as always.
