Thats what I was doing for the past 6 months too, but I took off the cluster to do some work, and when I went to put it back, it wouldnt work, and I tried quite a few times. When I was holding on the back of the speedo driving along (quite a task to do, especially with a stick!) it seemed to work fine... I dunno, I guess I could try it one more time before I give the dealer 90 bucks for a 10 dollar part...
