AC Clutch 200

90 245---When the AC kicks on, the clutch/compressor is noisy and after about a minute it blows the 8 amp fuse. Could a bad clutch cause this problem? Here's a brief history of the AC....
Dealer replaced and "upgraded" AC to 134A in spring of 2002. Worked great until this spring. Took car in to independant volvo mech. He said the compressor was bad and that the car was never converted to 134A! Needless to say I'm not happy. The Detroit area dealer that did the work (or in this case didn't do the work) wouldn't help and Volvo customer service is unconcerned that I got hosed by one of their dealers!

If I do have to replace the compressor/convert the system to 134A (again!!!), any guess to a ball park dollar figure???

Sweating in Michigan....Russ
