V6 in a 122 120-130

The 60deg V6s can be found in S10 pickups and Camaro/Firebird(some of the later ones have DOHC and MFI, but that means electronics, etc.). True, the early 2.8s had a problem with intake gaskets leaking coolant internally that destroyed crank bearings, but competent techs know how to prevent this quite easily. GM sells a 3.4,bolt-in replacement motor that makes 160HP/194Lb-Ft torque using stock 2.8 induction, etc. Edelbrock and others sell performance intakes (for small 4BBL carbs), cams, headers, etc, so it wouldn't be too hard to get about 200HP. Sounds pretty inticing to me. I've worked at a GM dealership for 20+ years, and consequently fell in love with the Buick 3.8, but it's too wide and heavy for this application. I, too will probably stick to a manual trans, because the autos would probably require the tranny tunnel to be heavily modified.
