a] they have them new for $260-$280, which strikes me as a lot of dough for a windowshade.

b] looks like the same part fits 7 & 9
example, black:

9192159 fits 940/960/V90, '91-'98
9192159 fits 740/760, '85-'92

Other part numbers for other colors change over the years, but I think that's because, example, the shade of tan changed over the years.

so I'd say you don't need any measurements at all.
