oil pressure sending unit 200

91 2455 w/b230f auto 265k - did a search but cudnt exactly find answer to my question. gunked engine compartment today and after cleaning found oil pressure sending unit without a wire connected to it. at same time, found a wire hanging off the alternator with a male, bullet end to it. seems this wire wud reach the pressure sending unit and even looks like the bullet end wud fit in the end. but this it's not logical for the wire to go there so i didnt even attempt that. where does that wire go to, and where does the wire for the pressure sending unit come from? tks again all.
