Hood won't open 900

Hi All,

After replacing my radiator and AC condenser on my 1997 960 wagon and taking the car out for a test drive I went to open the hood and recheck everything and found the hood would not open. The hood release from inside the car feels stuck and with force it does pull but it feels like something is stuck and the cable is just stretching and I am worried it may break if I pull to hard.

At the hood I can lift the passenger side of the hood up and get access to the center lever. It is the drivers side that seems to be stuck. I have had a helper sit on the hood or try to move it but it won't budge.

Before I really break something I was hoping someone had specific advice as to how I can access the latch from underneath the car (not the center latch which I can access but does nothing when I move it) specifically the drivers’ side post which is the post with the spring on it or something else that may be the culprit on the right drivers side.

I have looked through the 700/900 FAQ and searched the site but have found little in terms of what to remove from underneath the car to gain access. I was thinking the headlamp but not sure. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Angus
