Undocumented feature (press horn, rear wipers come on) 700

Weirdness abounds. This morning I go to honk my horn at my neighbor, and the rear wiper on my 86 740 wagon come on when they were already in the off position. I go, "okay". I turn the wipers on, then off, and they sweep one more time. Then I press the horn button again, and, sure enough, the rear wipers start sweeping again as though I turned them on. Is this an undocumented feature, or is there a wiring hunt in my future?
