leaky transmission line 200 1986

I need an education. Daughter's 1986 240 wagon has a leak in the transmission line. I had a new piece of exhaust pipe installed - the 90 degree piece that hooks to the exhaust manifold and goes under the car. The transmission lines run parallel to it a few inches away. There is a bracket that holds the two transmission lines near the back of the engine. The leak is at the bracket. The brake lines look "normal" on both sides of the bracket, but there seems to be a "machined piece" inserted into the brake lines under the bracket. They have a smaller diameter than the brake lines. That is the best I can describe it.

1. What exactly is going on there? Press fit?
2. Is the answer to replace the entire line or is it repairable?
3. Any thing else I want to know about it?
