Heater water valve replacement 140-160 1971

Niel,
I assume you are talking about the heater control valve. They are available. I put one in last year but I can't remember if I got the thing from FCP, Scandcar, or the local Volvo dealer. They're not cheap -- in the 150 US$ range. I paid the money because the 142 is my winter beater car, and I live in the frosty State of Maine. Were I in Kiwi Paradise where I'd seldom use the heater, I'd just put in a manual ball and lever valve, either under the hood or inside, next to the tranny bulge, but then, I have zero electric/electronic skills. YOU have other options ;-).
Bob S.
