240 series ethanol conversion 200 1978

ethanol is beginning to become available in CA, with several plants due to start operation here in 2006.. for now, i can get it from cooperative buying groups; a distributor in richmond, ca, which sells min 6000 gal quantities for 1.70/gal.

so i've got an old volvo i'm experimenting with. what i have heard is that CI (continuous injection), standard on all 240 gasoline models, are ideal for ethanol conversion, requiring less modification than your standard fuel injected gasoline engine. though i don't really understand the details, the reason has to do with the fact that the system is already designed to regulate the fuel flow rate and air/fuel mixture, and the fact that it is an electromechanical system with no ECU.

my goal is to run the highest blend of ethanol with the simplest conversion process. can anyone give me more information that might help me figure this out?
