Replace or Reset Rear bumper 'Shock Absorbers' ?? 200

Hello. This weekend I looked at a 1990 240DL sedan for sale. The rear bumper on the passenger(american car)side was pushed in. Bumper & black rubber covering was fine as was frame/chassis. However the "shock absorber"(not sure of correct name for this part. There are 2x . One on each side which Attatch the metal bumper to the car frame/chassis)was pushed in. Can these be re-set ? Or do they get replaced ? If they should be replaced how much are they(OEM & if available non OEM) ? Should they be replaced as a pair ? Thanks all.
