Hi all,
I'm planning the (soon to come) day I'll put my B20E into my amazon. So I need to talk clutch. Apparently, last time I put the stuff together (3 years ago), I made the mistake of mixing clutch parts (didn't know anything about Fiichtel/Sachs and Borg/Beck: "huh?"), because it never worked as good as it should have: my guess is I put the wrong bearing for the pressure plate I have. Now I have several good used units waiting on the shelf, and having the disc refitted will be enough. Of course, ignorant as I was when I took them out of the cars, I made a pile with all the parts and now I get worried: what can or cannot be mixed??

Looking in the volvo parts book, I've already sorted out the size of the release bearing I should choose depending on which clutch I fit (I have several NOS bearings at hand). But I'm concerned about the discs. Are the discs for an F/S clutch different from those for the B/B one? Can I use one for the other? In the parts book, volvo says: "Note: clutches and plates are not always of the same make". I'm not sure I get it right... does it mean: "put whatever disc with whatever plate, we did the exaclty that", or "you might find a F/S clutch manufactured by XYZ in China, because we needed already to cut the costs"?

If no, how can I tell which one is which? Any help (pictures or parts number to look for on the discs) are mostly welcome!!!
