Which side of spring is the top? 200

I recently ordered the IPD(TME) lowering springs for my 82 240 nonturbo.

I noticed that both ends of the front lowering springs look the same.

Same diameter, same roundness.

But on one end of it, the coils look just a little closer together than the other side.

Question: Which side is the top? Does it matter?

Chris
