Rewiring headlights 700 1989

You may want to check the "ground tabs" on inside, upper part of the fenders (both) ...just about everything grounds to these metal tabs that bolt to the inside of the fenders...above battery and very high.

It is simply a piece of metal that has 8 (I think) tabs for "push on spade style" connections.

You should pull the bolt holding it and make sure you have a clean good ground both where it attaches to fender and check the wires/ connectors as well.

I had a bad connection (bad insullation) that would make the car literally turn off when activating the high beams, yet clicking them off immediately would recover.

Needless to say, repaired all bad insullation, cleaned up connections to tabs and fenders...solved it all.

Good Luck.

Dave
