Oh, the message that I've been dreading to post.
I'm sorry to report that after 10 years of owning the Volvo, I'm going to be selling her in the next couple weeks. I ended up buying a 2003 Nissan Altima/22k/3.5SE. The deal was too good to pass up, and as much as I want to keep the Volvo, I think it's time to pass her along to another caring owner.
I'm considering eBay'ing her, but if anyone knows of anyone interested in a well-maintained 1989 240DL, drop me an email at volvo240@hyperocity.com. I'm located in Lakeland, FL, about 30 miles from both Tampa and Orlando.
Within the past year, she's been repainted ($850), got new OEM taillights, new Zimmerman rotors and OEM pads all around, new Boge Turbo Gas struts w/SKF mounts, recently tuned-up, replaced the kick-down cable w/AT kit/flush, new Starla Turbo muffler, topped off A/C, and also had all new front bushings w/ball joints and tie rods back in Jan 04.
Upgrades: Turbo sways, strut tower braces, rear center decor panel, rare later tan armrest w/cupholders, K&N air filter, 951 ECU, tach, small clock, voltmeter, snow cap/cowl covers, fog lights, the 100k mile badge, new sunvisor clips, and my Bentley Bible. :-)
Stereo: 2004 Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X579 MP3 headunit w/10-Disc CD Changer, 3 remote controls, including steering wheel remote, with Kenwood Auxillary switcher mounted in trunk for adding an Aux input. Trunk will have lines run for an amplified sub (not included).
I've got a stackful of maintenance receipts from 1995 (yes, 1995), and they're all logged into an Excel spreadsheet. She's in great shape (has two minor quirks), but still pushed 305 miles in 12.8 gallons.
If you're interested, see my link below for pictures or drop me an email if you'd like to know more about the car.
