Radio Problems

I am having a problem with the radio in my 1995 940. The tape player works fine as does the AM. However, when I try to play an FM station, initially there is only static. In hot weather like now, after a few minutes the station starts to come in and after a few more minutes it is fine. Turning the radis off and immediately back on speeds up the process considerably. In the Winter, it is a totally different story. The static rarely ever goes away leaving me with only the tape player or AM. The problem definitely appears to be heat related. Has anyone a clue as to the problem. Other than get a new radio.

I am also having a problem with the radio in my 1987 740. The radio plays fine, but the tuning window (station frequency) is on some of the time, off some of the time. I would say off more than on. There appears to be no pattern or predictor as to when it will come on and when it will go out. Again, anyone have a clue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
