Tranny Trouble-non turbo 1994 944 900 1994

This past week i had trouble with my tranny. the tranny filter was clogged to the point that fluid couldnt be pulled into the tranny and my car would not move. I cleaned the filter and flushed the system and now all is good. Now im noticed that when the car is warm reverse does not want to engage, it feel like its stuck and the car wont accelerate in reverse, almost like the brakes are engaged and when the car is placed in neutral the car will accelerate. what could possibly cause this. I did notice the tranny was over filled a few days ago and i drained some fliud out. When the car is in drive it shift and drives like normal. Is it something i can fix myself.
