The 'Toad runs but needs to get dizzy 140-160

If your header is turning red it is more likely retarded ignition than lean
mixture although that can contribute. I'd set it to 20° initial advance with
everything connected or just time it by ear for a start and I'll bet that will
help. The header gets red because the stuff going through it is still burning.
With proper advance most of it will be burned up by then.
