pulley problems 1800

David, is this alternator going onto an earlier B18 block, or a later B18/ B20 block? The later engine blocks have a hole drilled into front of block for mounting alternator (see center of attached pic).

I had to use a hacksaw on my Delco Remy to cut away a bit of metal to make everything line up. Also had a larger diameter hole drilled into alternator ear (?) to accept the bolt which goes into front of engine block, but it's workng great, no problems after years of use. I'll send/ post more pics if desired.

If it's earlier B18 block, you won't be able to mount the alternator in this manner.
