Gabriel, I have a similar problem and thought I'd share it with you. My '91 740 runs fine, once it starts. It has a real problem starting after being in the sun on a hot day. Today for instance, at lunch, it took 15 sec. of cranking before it caught. Once started it was fine. This just started and it too seems to be fuel related. Sounds like you have a good start to the repair.
