Car Selling Advise

Greetings -

I have been trying to sell my car for some time and beginning to get worried. I am moving in one month. I'm not trying to sell it on with this post (That's what a classad is for) I'm just looking for some advise.

The car is an '89 740 GLE 16v wagon w/ auto trans. I don't want it anymore because I've always wanted a car with a manual trans and I want something that will survive a little better in my new homein which it will not be driven very often. It seems like everytime I let this car sit for more than a few days, something breaks. I am also somewhat sick of the lengthy list of things to fix and want something newer, read less broke. I still believe, however, that the car functions very well and I think I have it priced accordingly at $1,000. At the moment all it needs to function properly is an AMM. It has been posted around town and this site's classads for a month with only one serious inquiry.

The other part of the problem is my situation. I'm broke so I can't afford to fix the AMM and I let the plates expire, so nowone can test drive the car. I am willing to take out a loan to by my next car, but not to fix this car because I'm trying to get rid of it.

What should I do? Do I find the money, fix it, and continue to place ads? Am I asking to much? Is there something wrong with this model?

Thanks,

--Aubrey
