Front brake question 200 1992

Hey all, has been a while since I've been here. I did a bunch of work early winter to the brick, with all your folks help. And she's been faithfully doin the daily 80 mile commute the last 6 months. Now my question. The brakes have been a little noisy all spring and have been on that long list of things to do...well past Sunday the right front got REAL noisy and I panicked, so I ran down to Pep Boys an hour before they closed and short on cash I purchased front pads for $13.99. I pulled the pads in the dark with the factory tire jack and replaced them( they were 99.99% gone but had not gone metal to metal yet). The calipers retracted fine and actually the rotors looked ok. In the dark and with haste I did not put the thin metal sheets or there springs back behind the pads. I also bent one of the retaining pins but was able to re-install it. So all 4 pins and cotter pins are in place. Now the brakes feel good, the front is quiet, no pulsing. I plan on taking it apart again in the future, but should I be worried that those pieces were not re-installed for the time being?.Are they anti chatter or?. Are those pieces included in a hardware kit? Thanks...Chris
