BW55 Transmission question for a 1981 244dl, B21A motor, 153,153kms 200 1981

We had a dry weekend after about three weeks of cold and wet Down Under.

Decided to check drains in doors, rocker panels, lube hinges and joints, check levels, etc. The usual preventive maintenance.

Decided to get under the car, for a look. I grabbed the Drive Shaft near the Transmission, just behind the Universal Joint, gave a shove and yank. Visible movement and a minor clunk. No leaks, no noise when driving, no anything. Should I be worried, is it an item that is peculiar to BW55 cars?

Any ideas or information is appreciated, as always.
