1993 940 Wiring, Low Coolant Level Sensor Install Problem (Lucid, anyone with a ’93 WD?) 900

I installed a low coolant level sensor in my 1993 T-Rex/Regina. The wiring was all in place and confirmed, or thought I did, that I have to use “C” connector location #5. I have continuity from the new spring clip to ground, after the sensor but no voltage going to location 5 on the connector. The lack of voltage was confirmed with the key on, using a volt meter.

Is location 5 correct on the 1993? Or should I take option 2, the Dick Riess method, and install a 12V lamp on a panel knockout and BYO power. I sure would like to keep it in the instrument cluster rather than bugger it up.

One thought, a long shot. I did this while waiting on a new radiator, fluid drained, radiator out, and when testing for voltage I used KPII. Should this work after starting and returning to KPII?
