'Heat shield' for wiring harness?

I cut the two wires (red and black) near the grey plug, and ran new wires along the firewall, along the passenger side fender and down the where the old wires connected. The red wire goes to the alternator and the black to the oil pressure warning switch. You can put these wires into a split loom to give a more finished appearance.

Don't try to use the old wires as the insulation is probably going bad.
