Speedo pulse generator - voltage and number of pulses per axle rotation? 200 1988

I'm just about to buy an '88 240 to replace my wife's '80 264GLE.

I'll be transplanting the V8, ford 9" diff etc. from the other car, so I won't have the speedo drive on the rear axle any more.

I'm wondering whether it's possible to adapt a GM speedo sender (on gearbox) to the 240 speedo. I can change the gears in the gearbox to calibrate it.

Does anybody know what voltage the Volvo pulse generator produces, and how many pulses are generated per axle revolution (ie number of teeth on the pulse wheel)?

If I can't adapt a GM speedo sender, I assume that I can fit an '82 speedo into the '88 cluster and go with a cable speedo?
