Is it the B234F? You ask......... 700 1990

That is the DOHC 16-valve variety of the I-4 red block Volvo standard.

The B230F (8 valves) is not an interference engine, the B234F IS.

How many camshaft drive gears did you find in there? One = B230F, two = B234F.

As far as I know, seizing is usually the rings siezed onto the cylinder walls. Clearing that will require access to the top and the bottom of the pistons.

The engine must be pulled and the bottom end removed.

I have not ever done all that. In fact, faced with that I would seriously consider getting another engine instead.
