Wiring question again 140-160

I have my dash apart and I am trying to correct a few things. The lights that activate when you hit the hazard switch is not working. Also, the bulb for the demist does not work. The bulbs are fine, the fuse is fine.

How does one trace a bad connection? What tool will I need to trace where the power to the wire stops? Am I wording this right? While I have this dash apart I want to fix everything.

One more thing...the rheostat does not work. Is this the same thing? Just need to find where the power to the wire stops?
