Newly installed radio/cd cut power to my 740 700 1992

Help--
My son just installed a new radio/cd player in my daughters 92 740. After he was done, I had to do a couple of errands, while listening to the radio. I came home and grabbed a Gershwin CD and popped it in and backed up to go do more errands, and the car died!!!! The door chimes, the lights light, but the car does not turn over. A fuse?? Incoreectly wired?? Where do we start-- My son said its because it was Gershwin, but he's 17 so what does he know. Anyway, any perals of wisdom would be great. Thanks!
