difference between '88 wiring harness and '86 wiring harness? 200 1986

I had the same question when I replaced my sister's '87 740GLE's engine wiring harness. When I consulted my volvo service manuals for the 2.2 it said it was atest connector lead. When I took out her old harness the end was not connected to anything. The car ran before and runs great now with out it. If you want to keep it pry out the connectors using an awl and solder new wires to the terminals (sometimes you can use automotive replacement terminals, but they can be loose.) I would reccommend a wire loom if placed in the engine bay.
