TellTale signs of AC coolant upgrade 200

I very very rarely use my AC. Several years back I charged it and it didn't hold up. Obviously a leak somewhere. I don't care enough about AC to Find the leak. fix/replace what's leaking. upgrade the seals to the R134 and charge it BUT I do come across Volvos that I can pull from. Is there something obvious to look for to see if an AC system has already been upgraded?
If I see one, then I'll pull it and possibly swap out mine.
Thanks
