Water pump going? 200

A few questions - revolving around my water pump -

First off - I've noticed a few droplets on top of my water pump - presumably coming from the weep hole - and I believe this is indicative of the water pump wearing out?

Secondly - how much of a whine will the pump give as it's on its way out?

Third - I've noticed my temperature gauge to be both a little bit high at times lately and also a little bit below the normal, 'half-way' level. Coolant level looks okay. Also pointing toward water pump or perhaps temp comp board or temp sensor?

Thanks -
Zach
