B230F 940 Exhaust Manifold Gasket Replacement 900 1992

Hello All. This may be a near no-brainer, but I thought I would ask for any caveats or experience replacing the four gaskets. I thought I had an exhaust leak and I do, at the front most exhaust port.

The FAQs say no sealent should be used. Comments? I bought a set of gaskets at NAPA, made in Denmark so that is a good sign, somewhat. The dealer was out of stock of Volvo parts, which listed for about $25, the NAPA set was about $12.

The FAQs say that the fiber side of the gasket goes against the cylinder head. Anyone know whether correct gaskets are sandwich type (3 layer) or two layer (what I bought from NAPA)?

The disassembly looks simple enough, provided the nuts come off. Should the studs be replaced as a matter of course? Any other brackets or supports hiding down there somewhere?

Thanks for any inputs. I have relied on this board for sage advice.
