Loud Knocking During Acceleration 700 1987

I just replaced the exhaust manifold gasket on my 88 765T. This car has had a severe engine knock that sounded like a rod bearing. I read a post on here recently where a fellow brickboarder experienced the same thing with a blown exhaust gasket. Sure enough! The vibration damper that the exhaust sits on had held all four ports off about 1/32" and made the engine sound like it was coming apart. The car is now quieter than my N/A 940.
