kleen wheels: good or bad? 200

I don't know what Kleen Wheels look like, but I'll tell you what I have heard.

25 years ago I did some work on Porsches.

In those days, someone was selling black anodized aluminum bell-shaped shields that fit between the wheels and hubs to keep the brake dust off the wheels.

I was told that if these shields were installed, Porsche would void the warrantee on any component related to the brakes or hubs (e.g. rotors, bearings, etc.)

On my '91, I put "dust free" pads on the front. I forget the brand. They are not actually dust free, they are just really light grey in color, so you don't notice the dust on the wheels. I don't like the way they perform, especially when they get hot, but I really like having my wheels look clean all the time. I guess there are always trade-offs.
