Can i vent crankcase pressure from the filler cap?

Im fairly sure i have some serious crankcase pressure problems and my B23E is losing a fair bit of oil from the sump gasket.
I am wondering if i can temporarily relieve crankcase pressure by having a hose running from a modified oil filler cap to the intake manifold or inlet piping. I just need to drive the car for about an hour to my mechanic and i dont want anything to go bang during the journey.

Could this also be used for a more long term solution in keeping crankcase pressure down?

Thanks in advance
Chris
