Engine stall following quick full open / close of throttle 700

1990 740 Turbo – 25,000 miles on engine.

Occasionally the engine will stop following a very quick full-open / close of the throttle. Sometimes, the engine will stall and stop, other times it simply runs rough for a moment. This is most noticeable a very slow speeds – at highway speeds, the engine has actually quit running.
