Updating my R12 system to R134A 200

I purchased the factory Air conditioning update kit designed for the 1991-1992 200 series before I fully thought this out. I have no experience with A/C's. I figured I could just swap out the cannister, and whatever comes in the kit, but I'm not too clear on how to prepare the system.

Im restoring this '91 240 wagon on a budget. I don't really NEED the A/C, but it sure would be nice this time of year. I would understand if I was told not to do it myself, but then the question comes up: what to expect to pay for the work to be done?

Thanks very much in advance.

Larry
