T belt misaligned, other woes 700 1986

Plug wires (pass to driver) order is 4-3-1-2

Tensioner stud not properly seated in block face will let belt "walk". Nut must be tightened too.

Previous t-belt person may have done it with crank 180* out after belt was off for some reason(?). #1 would be up at tdc OK, but timing mark would be hidden 180° around under the pulley/sprocket.
That is where the pulley/sprocket mark would normally be with #4 TDC on compression stroke rather than #1, as long as the Cam & Crank are in sync.

Assuming the key/keeper was still OK, I think you might have just turned the crank another 180° (with belt off) to make the sprocket mark agree with Cam at #1 TDC compression stroke.

The sprocket 0° mark (or keyed guide washer notch) should align with the raised "pointer" on the aluminum seal carrier, as indicated in the picture.
