running good, but rich 700 1985

Hi All,

I need some help, I have recently purchased another 740. It's a 1985 with 80,000 miles. The car had been sitting a couple of years and to get it running I have replaced:

Tank Fuel Pump and in line Filter
Enigne Control Unit (output to fuel pump relay was bad) ecu #554
Air Control Valve

Now the car runs good, starts good, but runs rich, the plugs are black with carbon and the exhaust is black and the o2 sensor reads 0.7-0.8 volts when car is fully warmed up.

So,
I have checked
- temp sensor resistance is good at computer
- air control valve is being controlled and operating correctly
- fuel pressure is correct and regulator is good
- no vacuum leaks found
- AMM resistance test is good and engine runs poorly when disconnected
- O2 sensor bench tested and works good

So, what else could cause engine to run rich .... or I have I missed something...

Thansk in advance
gscock
