740 axle I.D. Help! 700

Ok after searching BB Board, and TB Board im still no closer.
I have an axle that acts like a posi but when jacked up it does'nt.
Read about diff. axles and now have a better understanding of that
issue. OK no barcode sticker,no tag. Rear has an aluminum read
cover. ( chiltons sez that means its a 1041 BUT this is an 89 car )
On the right side of the pumpkin the # 023597 ( best i can tell )
On the cover 1023610 3340-1 ,then some sending unit or what have
you ,with a wire running towards the front of the car. THE CAR

1989 740 Turbo 5 spd wagon,
