87 240 sputtering/stalling 200 1987

Hello all,

Our 87 240 wagon has recently begun refusing to stay running when started. Starts fine, but instead of settling at its base idle, it dies. It also will not respond to the throttle unless you hold your foot down and wait. It has little power even when it does.

Thinking this was probably plug wires, rotor or cap, I've replaced all with no improvement. This is definitely not an idle valve problem because the symptoms occur even with the throttle wide open.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,

Dave
