Glove box latch piece - what is that thinggy called?

pu,
i had this problem. the glove box door had a tendency to pop open whenever i hit a bump. my solution was to fabricate a fix using a small rectangular piece of thin sheet metal (from household hvac ducting) which i then pop-riveted into place to serve as a catch for the door latch.
